Sad but necessary

Today we had to put down three old mares. At our farm. we let Grand lady’s live as a gratitude for a job well done, but after losing most of their teeth, the possibility Of life with dignity, and health, has gone. So one of the necessary, but sad times, had arrived.

The Dames gone now are:

Jarðþrúður born 1986 owned by Michael Boberg http ://www.terna.is/jarthrudur.html

Vænting born 1985 http://www.terna.is/vaenting.html

And last but not least Linda frá Kirkjubæ, born 1988 http://www.terna.is/linda.html

Michael Boberg, has built his breeding on Jarðþrúður. Kristinn Hugason our main breeding judge at the time,
called her the beauty-Queen.
Jarðþrúður was a 1 prize mare.

Vænting produced many good horses, among them world champion 2011 In tölt youth class, Dár Kjartansstöðum

Vera 1 prize mare born 1995. And others.

Linda fra Kirkjubæ, how had a special place in our minds, she took over the mothers role, two times taking care of foals the mothers had died from.

Horses sold

The latest news here from us is we are saying goodbye to a few horses. We have sold. Þórketill a Stallion with a great pedigree, and a good horse.
Þórketill is a 5 gaited Stallion, all gaits correct, smooth and flexible. We hope new owners will be successful with him, both in breeding and competition.

Oddfreyja just about the most promising young mare. We have had a lot of fun having her around;

She has a great temperament, eager and positive, gaits like with a 4 gaiter, but has pace to decorate the experience, sister to our Dimmblá.

And last but not least, Tindri only a three year old, but already like his father, Töfri, enchanting movements, high and smooth, boasting pace on top of a 4 gaiters movements.
We wish new owners luck, and fortune
