The sales market

We took the assessment, that Sigurhans, one of our Stallions, would be more suitable as a gelding for the market, having for a year or so being offering him as a sprots horse, a well as a Stallion. He is the son of Dynur Hvammi, and his mother is Jarþrúður, sister of Snarpur, world champion, in T1.

So with out further delay, phoned our vet, to geld him, along with a very promising young horse, Rauðskeggur, how is a brother of Dimmblá, how was nr. 7 at the Landsmót in 6 year´s old mares group, with the score of 8,33, and 9,0 for tölt.

So now Sigurhans is a promising competition Gelding!! Two days before, a horse buyer from Germany was at our farm looking at some gelding´s, we pointed Sigurhans out to him, and told him, how promising he was, as a sport competition horse, he has a strong walk, slow canter, trot like Suðri holtsmúla. But he replied he only buys geldings!!

So now Sigurhans is a gelding! And not a full day passed, the horse trader phones, and says he has rethought his verdict, and thinks Sigurhans would be perfect for his mares, with these strong gaits, we agreed on he has.

So this little story of the horse market show´s how unpredictable it is to decide, what is suitable for the market and what not!!

Sigurhans will not be a lover boy, from here on, in  Europe´s breeding fields, he  will take two weeks of now, is hurting in some place´s, but we know! You will see him as a sports competition gelding, doing well
