MILLIONS TURNED DOWN

Trappe wanted to buy Tývar; ,,No thanks said the Owner"

Andreas Trappe, the German owner of Galsi from Saudarkrokur, has shown great interest in purchasing Tývar, a stallion from Kjartansstadir. It belongs to Thorvaldur Sveinsson and Trappe sent him messages through a middleman. Tývar is a first prize stallion sired by Thokki from Gardur and the dam is Terna from Kirkjubaer. Tývar made a great impression at last summer's Landsmot. According to the paper's sources, all the attention that Tývar received at the Landsmot resulted in Thorvaldur getting an offer of 15 million Icelandic to buy Tývar.
Thorvaldur has confirmed that he had been contacted on behalf of Trappe to purchase Tývar. "No numbers were mentioned," said Thorvaldur, "since the horse is not for sale. Tývar has been in high demand lately and I am determined not to sell him. There is no reason to sell a stallion that is in great demand."
Thorvaldur therefore rejected Trappe's offer, also declining his request to rent Terna for a foal. "The matter has come to a close," said Thorvaldur
